New Balance Numeric 'Wake up Massi' and Toy Machine 'Real Life Sucks'

New Balance Numeric 'Wake up Massi' and Toy Machine 'Real Life Sucks'

Two straight up bangers for you this week courtesy of arguably the most productive shoe brand of the moment and the welcome return of Ed Templeton's Toy Machine to the full-length arena. First up is 'Wake up Massi' by Josh Hallett for NB Numeric. Josh's previous videos include the truly excellent 2023 'Welcome 2: Hell' video so if you're in the know, you'll be expecting greatness. No disappointments with a full Euro squad dropping some truly internationally sick skating in a variety of destinations. The team riders featured are heavily UK-based with footage from Dale Starkie, Charlie Munro, Evan Johnson, Connie Gascoyne and Will Sheerin, plus amazing full sections from Andrew Verde, Dee Collins and the snooziest ripper in Milan, namely Massimo Cristoforetti finishing things off. This video has rightly gone down a storm all over the world and heralds big things for the likes of Dee, Dale, Andrew and Massimo we think. Get it watched!

Second up, and somewhat appropriately given Josh Hallett's reference to Toy Machine's seminal 'Welcome to Hell', comes the first full-length from Toy Machine in what seems like an age. My only gripe here is too much art/text super imposed on the footage but I guess it's an advert, isn't it? Outstanding sections from the seemingly perma-injured Jeremy Leabres, insane rail precision from Braden Hoban and fine wine hammers from Leo Romero. What really makes 'Real Life Sucks' stand out however are the women on the team. In particular Georgia Martin and Shiloh Catori - Georgia is Toy's most recent pro and goes in for a full part of epic proportions. Team-mate Shiloh has less footage but she is definitely one to watch - the curved 5050 is brilliant. Overall, a welcome return to form for one of Tum Yeto's best brands. Go check it out.
