Yes now - August's here everyone. Despite half the world being close to bursting into flames and the other half dedicating its time to being utter bellends - skateboarding has thankfully once again provided a worthy distraction. First up are two very recently released clips from now firmly established new-name-at-the-table Slappy Trucks. First up is 'Purple Hospitality' which lays out what happens when Bam Margera gives his house keys to a bunch of Slappy trucks riders and they attack his ridiculous personal skatepark. Lots of notable ripping here with special mention going out to the UK's own Lilly Strachan who does a trick we've only ever seen Andy Scott do before: namely the backside crailslide hand shove-it. Bravo!
Next up is another offering from Slappy Trucks in the shape of a a 6 minute US tour video in collaboration with Closer magazine. This one serves up a different crew of mainly Toy Machine affiliated Slappy riders including the always wholesome/awesome Cordano Russell, Georgia Martin and Leo Romero to name but three. Again - great content from a brand we're backing hard. Go see our full Slappy Trucks range here.
Hot on the heels of Slappy Truck's diverse crew comes the first video from UK upstart brand Short Straw. With a Leeds flavour, Short Straw's 'Open Relationship' highlights the talents of their main riders Paul Watson, Izzy Almond, Connie Gascoigne, Albie Edmonds and newest recruit Jake Mitchell. This one's heavy on the crust with impeccable filming and editing. Well worth a watch.
Last but not least comes the latest release from Sole Tech stalwarts Emerica called 'Why Are You doing this?' We really liked this one as it has that 'proper' video feel that seems to be missing from a lot of shoe brand releases these days. With the likes of Leo Romero, Spanky, Jon Dixon and newest head Stu Kirst absolutely going in, this is a true return to form for the shoe brand that pioneered getting gnarly. Interesting spots, brilliant filming and music, great overall atmosphere. Watch and enjoy!
