Happy (ha) December everyone. Cold and wet enough for you yet? Bah Humbug! As we edge towards the traditional Thrasher magazine SOTY run, we thought we'd point out our own top three picks to win the only (?) coveted trophy left in pro skateboarding. So, in chronological order (sort of) here are the people we hope get the trophy and the associated career boost. First up, the irrepressible and seemingly invincible Canadian TJ Rogers. TJ's back story is heavy, riddled with tough life situations ranging from growing up in the Canadian care system through to beating cancer - 'inspirational' is a much overused adjective but, in TJ's case, it's absolutely deserved. There are a few parts to choose from but his most recent 'Happy Friday' is our current favourite. Wallenberg NBDs, combo ledge tech and cartoon character outfits. Who wouldn't be stoked to see TJ take it?

Next up is another crowd favourite and working class hero, namely Thames skateboard's latest edition Gabriel 'Gabbers' Summers. Again there are a number of Gabbers vids floating around, including the hands-in-front-of-eyes inducing Out There part but, for us, his most recent 'Gabbers' section is the one for me, fatty! If you're a Gabriel fan already then you'll know what to expect, if not, get prepared, this lunatic has no fear. Straight forward love for skateboarding on display at all times. Gabbers rules!

Finally, as far as our choices go, is the truly mind-bending new part from Birdhouse pro Tom Schaar. It's honestly difficult to find any words to describe how off-it this one is so all I'll say is, the first trick alone would kill me and any of you reading this. Truly paradigm-shifting levels of gnar. 'Why not nollie flip off the platform into a 30 foot high mega ramp?' is not a question that regular humans will ever be asked. Insane.
