Birdhouse skateboards was founded in 1992 with the title birdhouse projects. It was made by ex pro skaters Tony Hawk and Per Welinder.

The brand not only manufactures skatboard decks but apparel and accessories aswell. Based in Vista california, the brand was founded after the boom of skating in the late 1980s as a way for the owners to stay involved in skating.

The brand was named after Tony Hawks nickname "birdman" due to his incredible height he gained during tricks. Not only does Birdhouse make a wide variety of clothes decks ecetera it also has published many skateboard videos that kickstarted the professional skate career of many of the biggest names in skating currently due to its undoubtable influence.
