Cruisers are usually intended to do exactly that "Cruise" and they not generally designed for performing tricks or to be used in skateparks etc. They come in many shapes like the classic polyprop style that made a comeback with Penny in recent years but thats only a small part of what is available now.

Many skate brands make cruiser decks which are approximately 7 inches wide  although we are seing much larger 9" versions now.
