Rip N Dip is a unique skateboarding and streetwear brand that was founded in 2009 by Ryan O'Connor in Orlando, FL. The brand's ethos is all about irreverence, unapologetic fun, and an edgy, urban attitude. Rip N Dip is for skaters, by skaters, and is dedicated to bringing the best quality streetwear to fans around the world.
Ryan O'Connor got the idea for Rip N Dip while on a skate camp in Ohio, where he realized he wanted his skateboard to be unique. He adorned it with the words "RIP 'N' DIP," and the brand was born. The other kids at the camp quickly caught on, and Ryan saw an opportunity. The following year, he brought a bunch of Rip N Dip t-shirts to the camp, and they sold like hotcakes. Ryan's garage became his workplace, and he printed every shirt he could get his hands on with graphics and prints he'd designed himself, handing out the brand new Rip N Dip shirts to skateboarders in skate parks with his friends.
Rip N Dip is particularly known for its hilarious, crazy designs, which are the work of artist and illustrator Jay Lemperle, based in New York. His graphics give Rip N Dip's products that little extra something, turning each one into a cheeky little masterpiece featuring aliens, cats, and middle fingers.
Rip N Dip has gained a cult following and has created quite a phenomenon around its brand. It has a flagship store on Fairfax Avenue in LA, next to Supreme, where fans can shop for the brand's range of T-shirts, hoodies, socks, skateboard decks, and accessories.
